Well it's Christian Nationals Week for the BC Track & Field teams, and it's looking like we could finish really well and quite possibly the highest in school history for both Mens and Womens teams. It's going to be a busy weekend for this guy though. 55m, 200m, 400m and 1600m relay. I haven't ran this many events in a track meet since my Jr. year of HS, and those days didn't have any 400s in them at all... so Saturday is gonna be a long, but fun day at the track. I just hope to score a lot of points for the team so we can have a better shot at a national championship. So what does that mean for this week? -Lots and lots of sleep -Ice Baths after every practice... sitting down in it... so only my chest and head are above water... its really painful -Good food choices ----> a.k.a making my own meals that I can trust vs. the DC -Stretching 3-4 times a day -Haircut -Sharpening up my thoughts in the Word as well I was reading in Mark today, and read the story of when Jesus fed the 4,000. It was pretty eye catching, more so than normal. Jesus had so much compassion for his followers that He wanted to feed them for their devotion to Him and his teachings. The crowd followed Him for 3 days, and went without food for the amount of time as well... that really is true devotion, espeically during that moment in time. He fed them, and they were satisfied... satisfied is the key word to me, because I don't think they were just completely satisfied with their physical hunger pangs being wiped out, but because Jesus recognized their devotion and rewarded them with something that made them whole. His Compassion. Later on the pharisees were questioning Jesus, and in response Jesus just rolls his eyes and says, "Why do you always have to ask for a miraculous sign in this generation? Because of that, you're never going to see one occur." Do we do that in this generation? Wanting to see something crazy happen that can easily be testified to Christ's work? Maybe we should just be devoted like the crowd of 4,000 and then through that kind of devotion to our Creator, patience to learn and walk as our Savior did, and have faith that we will be fed by our Provider, we'll be apart of a miraculous sign... Be devoted in Christ this week, you never know how close we really are to an up-close-and-personal miracle... -Philly |
